This and That

I've been a bad blogger lately.  I'm sure my loyal readers (Grandma, I'm talking to you) have been very dissapointed :)  Haha!  What a crazy few weeks it's been!  We had a great weekend filled with bridals showers, bbq's and birthdays.  I forgot my camera at home for each one of those.  Oops, oops and oops.

One more shout out to Grandma Herman- P knows what to do when you ask her what sound a cow makes.  I have to believe this was thanks to you :)  Hopefully she'll perform when you see her this weekend!

And to Guncle Bling- P's peony bloomed and it's gorgeous.  Love, love, love.

This Momma is one big ball of emotions lately.  I'm definitely not ready to have a one year old.  To make it worse, I came home to a movie the Husband put together with family videos and photos.  There were tears.  Lots of them.  We've been working our bums off with projects for the babe's party- but none of that stuff really matters.  What matters are the people in her life wanting to spend her special day with her.  And the cake, the cake matters too!  But seriously, she's lucky to have really great family and friends who are more like family as well.  I'm sure it will be one swingin' partay!

Here's a couple of teasers from tonight's photo shoot with the babe.  More to come!

Tub Time

Bath time has always been a favorite time of the day for us.  The babe really does love splashing around playing with her frog and fish.  We've got the whole routine down to a science- the first 15 minutes or so she plays and listens to her Daddy sing to her.  Then Momma is called in and I do the clean up :)  Hair, hands toes and toosh.  Nothing smells better than a fresh out of the tub babe.

Gotta love her floppy left ear.

A little peekaboo with Daddy before it's time to get out.

We Hide Books...

As weird as it may seem... we hide books from the babe.  The girl has a very real obsession with all books, but there is a major issue with a few of them.  The second she spots them she has to have it read to her pronto.  It's gotten so bad that we have hid the books that she seems to love the most so we can get through things like diaper changes without her going into a full blown gimme that book frenzy.  I guess there could be much worse things for her to get hooked on :)

Watching her climb into that chair, book in tow, was pretty cute.  This poor book has been put through the ringer.  It's become part of her bath routine with the singing done by her Daddy.  It got dropped into the tub a couple weeks ago and we thought for sure it was a goner, but it's pluggin' along blasting Mickey Mouse songs.

We are officially on the less than two week countdown to her FIRST BIRTHDAY party.  Hopefully I'll actually be able to get all of the fun projects I'm working on finished up before then.  I'm extra hopeful that all of these projects will distract me from freaking out at the fact that I will soon have a one year old.  I never thought I would be so emotional about it but I sure am.

Warm Evenings, Long Walks

We've been lucky enough to have several nice warm evenings in a row and we've been taking advantage of it.  Tonight we made the loop around the field behind our house.  Of course, I brought the camera.

We plopped her down in the long grass...

She's been coming up with so many new facial expressions lately.  This particular expression usually comes with monkey like noises as well.  She's most likely trying to figure out how to devour all of that grass around her.

Baby eyelashes are pretty great.

Time to get that jacket off and do some walking practice.  Serious business.  She's a flower girl in a wedding in less than two months.  It's go time.

Here we go!

A little fresh air is good for us all!

Did I mention it's been almost TWO weeks of sleeping through the night bliss for this Momma.  Gotta love that!  The babe has been eating like a little piglet lately and I can't help but think that maybe it's helping her sleep longer.  (Who knows, who cares... as long as it's working!)

Mother's Day

My first official Mother's day was perfection.

A delish dinner with the fam...

A little tennis after dinner.

Shout out to my Momma for the tennis rackets!  My sore muscles thank you.  This is definitely the tennis dream team right here.  HA!

The dream teams #1 fan.  She just laughed at us while we ran all over those damn courts chasing the balls.

I sure do feel like the luckiest Momma around.  This little lady is my favorite thing in the world.  On top of that, I have the BEST Momma a girl could ask for.

Sleep!

I used to be a person who could sleep through anything.  There really wasn't much that could disrupt my rest.  Then I got pregnant.  Most of my pregnancy I couldn't sleep... which left more time to organize the same drawers over and over and vacuum like a crazy person.  When the babe was born she started sleeping for seven or so hour stretches when she was about 3 months old and I thought we had lucked out with a little sleeping machine.  Around 6 months she decided she wanted to wake up to party multiple times during the night.  A couple weeks ago I was beginning to question just about everything I was doing, what she was eating and anything else I could think of.  WHY couldn't I get my little lady to sleep more than a three hour stretch?  I was beyond tired and honestly felt just about brain dead.  Just when it was all catching up with me and I was at my breaking point she slept all the way through the night, from 8:30pm till 7am!  So... maybe the baby monitor died and she didn't actually sleep through the night... but it still counts right? We thought it was a fluke and figured we'd be back to our old routine with a fully charged monitor.  And then she slept through the night again... and again... and again.  We're going on 7 nights now!

I have NO clue how it's happened but I have to say- SLEEP IS GOOOOD!  REAL GOOD!  Now let's just hope this lasts :)

In totally unrelated news, the babe and her BFF were all about sharing the love the other day.  Adorbs!

Undies

The babe discovered a certain someone's underwear drawer. Obviously it needed a little rearranging.

These have got to go!

Happy weekend!

Love in Black and White

Yesterday was the babes 11 month birthday which meant it was time for a mini photoshoot.  No glamorous location, just our unmade bed.

Oh hey there bellybutton!  I'm dying over the tiny curl behind her ear.

She was coming after that camera!  Rawr!

Usually I'm the one behind the camera but ever once in a while the Mister takes over.  He always manages to get some of my favorite shots.  (Next time I'll make sure to comb my hair)  I wish I could snuggle like this all day, every day.

Gotta love her go to dance moves!

Happy 11 month birthday to you!  Now let's get walking!  :)

11 Months!

I'm not sure how she can possibly be 11 months old today.  We're officially on the big first birthday countdown around here.  Hopefully this Momma gets the invites to her partay out in the next few days!

We had a mini photo session today when I got home from work (more on that tomorrow)  and she was bringin' her 'A' game!  :)

Uncle Love

I'm not exactly a fan of tattoos.  I mean, they are totally fine on other people... but I just don't know if I would ever go there personally.  My brother, however, is all about tattoos.  He has much more skin that is covered by them than skin that isn't.  I often wonder if he'll wake up when he's 80 (or forty!) and wonder what the heck he was thinking.  Something tells me he won't.  Every time he gets something new we give him a hard time about it, never tell him we like them.   Just shake our heads and move on.

Then he got this one.

He adores our little lady and this might just be too sweet.  I'm sure I'm totally ruining his street cred by calling it sweet- but it is just that.  There it is.  Smack on the back of his head.  Sure it will be covered by hair soon enough.  But it's there, always.

Presley is such a lucky girl to be loved by so many people.  Each of us have our own way of showing it.  I just might be inspired.
