diy: Chevron Pumpkin (It's Fall Ya'll!)

I'm still in denial of the fact that fall is here.  The only good things about this time of year are boots and fall decor (oh, and CANDY).  I was trying to wait to do any fall decorating until October 1st, but I couldn't wait to try a chevron painted pumpkin.  It turned out being really easy.  You just need a nice round (a taller one would have worked better) pumpkin and some masking tape.  I used 1 1/2" but you could use whatever width you want depending on the size of the stripe you'd like to achieve.

I just started my pattern using 3 1/2" strips of tape and eyeballing the pattern.  I wish I would have done three rows of tape rather than two- it would have made the finished product look better.  Oh well.

There ya have it!  We took some hydrangeas from my front yard and gave them a facelift with some gold spray paint.  They had faded a bunch already so the muted colors with the gold turned out really pretty (and cheaper than cheap- free!).

Tomaters

Tonight P decided to eat a tomato just like it was an apple.  Yummy but slightly messy.

A girl after my heart.  Tomato's are my fav and Papa grows some yummy ones!

Mmmm... some for Momma too.  Now, if we could just get the man of the house to warm up to them.

Farm Girl

The babe and I decided we would lend a helping hand when Daddio had to go do chores at Nana & Papa's this weekend.  Once again, we weren't much help.  Between eating tomatoes and playing with the dogs we were pretty distracted.

Papa is growing some DELICIOUS tomatoes.  I could sit and eat them until I was sick.

Pres decided she needed to death grip one and pack it all over with her.  She wasn't gonna let it go! Not even to hold Daddy's hand.

Yep, it's still there.

She even got to go on her first tractor ride.

 

Fall

I think P's pumpkin will be nice and big by the time Halloween rolls around :)

Chalkboard Love

Shout out to the husband for making me my new chalkboards.  He actually made them for my cousin's wedding I styled last weekend and now they have new homes in our house.  The babe's bathroom has been a work in progress... I threw it together while I was pregnant and in MAJOR nesting mode just so it would be usable.  It didn't even have a shower curtain in it before P's arrival.  I'm thinking it's the perfect project to work on this fall.  Ya hear that Mister?  I know you are sooo excited!

A Sweet Treat

The babe had her 15 month doctors appointment today- which meant 3 more shots :(  I feel so awful holding her down to get the pokes, but she's always such a trooper.  There's about 30 seconds of tears and then she's back to smiling and waving to the nurse.  I figured taking her out for ice cream is the least I can do.  Cake batter fro-yo with Oreos and LOTS of sprinkles makes everything better.

Presley Ryan's 15 month stats:

24 pounds (75th percentile)

19" head circumference (95th percentile and quite the noggin!)

33" tall (off the charts... literally)

Obviously she's growing like a little weed.  I wish I could grow two inches in three months!  The doctor also let me know that she's getting her two year molars.  One's about to break through and the others are pretty swollen.  I swear, we never realize when she's teething.  Hopefully these toofers are as easy on her as the others were.

We are so lucky to have a healthy babe!

oh, hey weekend!

This weekend is gonna be a busy one with a football game and birthday party to attend {I'm in charge of the cupcakes :)} and LOTS of wedding projects to complete for my cousin's wedding next weekend.  I'm not sure how well I'll do fitting it all in, but we'll find out!

I think we all might need a good nap Sunday afternoon.

A little weekend randomness:

I love Lay Baby Lay and this adorable playroom art is hitting home right about now.  Any advice for cute little girls who like to (ahem) bite?  This Momma needs some help!

I'm obsessed with Hard Knocks on HBO.  Obsessed.

How about this amazing idea.  Duff (remember Charm City Cakes?) has opened a shop called Duff's Cakemix in LA.  They bake the cakes and you get to decorate them.  This would be SUCH a fun place to take kiddos!  Someday, when I open my dream bakery it will have this :)

Somebody has a birthday coming up and just might like to open a box and find these.  Just saying.

A Good Night

Cheers to two years.  Annual toast pic.  We had dinner at Screen Door, which was delicious.  Yummy southern comfort food.  Hellllllo mac and cheese and fried chicken!

Wedding day bow.  The only piece of wedding day jewelry the mean Air Tahiti people didn't steal.  Allegedly.

Next stop, Salt & Straw for some ice cream.  There was a long line out the door but it was so worth the wait.  The story of how the shop came to be is pretty darn awesome too.

Waiting in line :)  Keeping myself entertained.  I shoe spy and the husband people watches.

They have lots of amazing flavors like pear with blue cheese, honey balsamic strawberry with cracked pepper, sweet summer corn buttermilk sherbert and lots of other yummy-ness.  We are not exactly the most adventurous people when it comes to food so I opted for sea salt with a caramel ribbon and the man got rocky road with honey marshmallows and candied hazelnuts.

My little scoop was hard on my spoon.  Or maybe it was just my aggressive ice cream eating style?

To top it all off I got this adorable sweater.  Anniversary number two was a good one!

2 Years

Happy two years to us!  The only way I'll ever let Presley get married is if she finds someone just like you.
